The Limousine Environmental Action Partnership, or LEAP, was developed to make the limousine and bus rental industry more environmentally friendly. Here are just a few of the many changes LEAP is making to lower pollution and create a greener planet:

Green Philosophy

The Limousine Environmental Action Partnership is determined to “reduce, renew and offset.” It is the goal of both the LEAP founders and participants to provide limousine and mini bus rentals that don’t pollute the air with as many carbon emissions. By setting industry initiatives with the help of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, LEAP is presenting new emission reduction standards for the limousine industry.

Green Globe Certification

LEAP has also teamed up with the Green Globe Certification, which is a program that works with the travel and tourism industry. This certification is designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and lower pollution caused by limos and charter buses. LEAP and Green Globe Certification are also on the lookout for greener fuel that is not petroleum-based.

Green Education

One of the most important facets of LEAP is educating the world about the affects of climate change, and how the limousine industry can help reduce them. With programs like a Carbon Emissions Inventory Assessment, brainstorming sessions about reducing greenhouse gas, FlexFuel vehicles that use both gas and E85 (a combination of ethanol and gas), and new technology that improves gas mileage, LEAP is making huge strides.
